Meet Zeke
A lonely bum with pathetic qualities that somehow endear him in his search for human connection. He and Najee meet at a time of unemployment, suicidal tendencies, and a view of life as obsolete. (PORTRAYED BY ZEKE BLUESTONE)
Meet Najee
An aspiring womanizer who, while he can sometimes come off as blasé or disinterested, has a heart of gold and a commanding work ethic that propels him from New York to LA and through the world of Late Night. (PORTRAYED BY NAJEE BLACKMAN)
Meet Lucille
A non-binary sex worker disillusioned to the world by what they see of it through their occupation. Initially a cynic, their working relationship with Zeke provides deeper introspection and care to their personal relationships. (PORTRAYED BY DAVIS OURIEL)
Season Guide
Episode 1
“PILOT”
Our Protagonists meet. Najee finds Zeke in the midst of a suicide attempt, and tries his best to keep this new friendship alive. Throughout the course of the episode, the two realize they share a love of Late Night Television, and, after a few failed attempts to go legit, decide to prove to the world their prowess in the art form.
Episode 2
“LANDERS”
A month has passed. Zeke and Najee have hit it big! Or, so it seems anyway. Zeke’s house has been taken over as the studio for Zeke and Najee’s hit new TV show. The only problem is: their writers suck, their producer’s a hack, and Zeke’s funds are getting bled in a Birdman-style romp that tests the protagonists’ relationship.
Episode 3
"SANTA MONICA”
The need for funds has grown dire. Najee has found a solution, but Zeke’s humility has led him to busk for his cash at the Santa Monica Pier.
Episode 4
“DINO GORDON”
Behind Zeke’s back, Najee has auditioned for a Late Night Training Program. This all good and well, until Zeke finds out, and forces his way into Najee’s spotlight.
Episode 5
“VIVA LA RAZA”
After their success in Episode 4, Zeke and Najee decide to have a ‘bros trip’ that is complicated when Zeke decides to bring along Lucille. Although, Najee might have a love interest of his own...
Episode 6
"PASSOVER”
It’s the Jewish holiday of Passover! And Najee has an old friend in town. Tensions rise due to Zeke’s jealousy. After a major confrontation. Zeke and Najee must revel with the question of if it’s meant to be.
Episode 7
“NAJEE GOES OUT ON HIS OWN”
Najee leaves for the big time. Zeke is left to pick up the pieces. The newfound Najee Akil Show takes off, and episode 4's mentor expresses his pride. After a chance reunion on the street, it looks like it’s over for Zeke and Najee...
Episode 8
“CAN ZEKE COMMIT?”
Najee swims in his success. Interviews, money, and access. Lucille comes over to keep Zeke company. Disaster strikes for Najee when a lawsuit arises and he loses the show. He ends up back in the hands of the only person he knows will help...
